The pink blanket square borders...

I've been working on how to do the pink blanket square borders (although when the wool relaxed after knitting the 'squares' they have turned out to be 9 1/2" by 8 1/2" so not very square!)

I've done a double crochet border, using 2 strands 100% cotton 4 ply wool.

This turned out better than the other wools I tried, 2 strands of 100% cotton DK was too thick, a wool mix wool was too rough feeling compared to the spree wool of the squares, but I got lots of practice experimenting!

I still have lots of squares to knit for the blanket (5 balls left) and then will do all the borders.
